Full-Submersion Hand Wash
We fully drench the carpet with water and our colour-safe, eco-friendly shampoo. Then, we scrub the entire piece by hand, giving extra attention to heavily stained areas for a truly deep clean.

Deep Flush & Rinse Extraction
Using a specialised metal rake, we continuously flush fresh water through the rug to push out all the dirt and soap. We keep rinsing until the water runs crystal clear, ensuring zero sticky residue is left behind.

UV Sun-Curing & Controlled Drying
The rug is left to dry naturally in the sun, which is the best way to permanently remove lingering odours. We also use strong air blowers to speed up the drying process and safely prevent any mould.

However, if you have pets, young children, or the rug is placed in a high-traffic living room, we recommend a deep artisan wash every 6 to 12 months. Regular professional washing removes abrasive, embedded dirt that standard vacuuming cannot reach, preventing irreversible wear to the fibres.
No. In handmade Oriental and Persian rugs, unstable natural dyes can bleed heavily if they are treated with harsh, highly alkaline commercial cleaners. To protect your investment, we only use gentle, pH-neutral, wool-safe solutions that safely clean delicate wool and silk without stripping natural oils or causing colour bleeding. We also perform a strict colour-fastness dye test before a single drop of water touches your rug.
While standard commercial carpets can tolerate hot water steam extraction, delicate fibres like silk, wool, and viscose require the utmost care. Aggressive scrubbing or harsh chemicals can cause permanent fibre splitting and structural damage. Instead, we use a bespoke 6-step manual hand-washing method. This involves deep vibration dusting, a full-submersion hand wash, and continuous fresh-water flushing to gently push impurities out of the foundation.
Yes. DIY remedies like vinegar or baking soda often only mask the smell temporarily and can add to the problem by leaving residue behind. Our full-submersion wash and deep flush extraction physically remove the source of the odour from the rug’s foundation. We then utilise natural UV sun-curing to organically neutralise bacteria and leave your rug smelling completely fresh.
Excess moisture is the primary culprit. Cheap or outdated cleaning services often over-wet carpets and fail to extract the water properly. When a rug remains damp for over 48 hours, mould spores and bacteria thrive, creating a musty odour. Our process avoids this entirely by using specialised extraction rakes followed by high-velocity air movers and sun-curing, ensuring your rug is absolutely moisture-free down to the core.
We highly discourage this for premium textiles. Most commercial aerosol sprays leave sticky chemical residues that attract more dirt over time. Furthermore, aggressive scrubbing pushes the dirt deeper into the carpet backing. If a spill occurs, blot it immediately with a clean, dry white cloth and contact a professional to safely lift the stain.
Because we never use harsh industrial heat or automated machines to rush the process, a proper artisan wash and natural sun-curing takes an average of 5 to 7 days. The exact duration depends on the thickness of the rug and the natural weather conditions, as we ensure the piece is perfectly dry to preserve its shape and softness.
